STARTING YOUR GARDEN
As simple as a vast grass lawn may seem, it really is pretty toilsome to sustain. No matter what you intend to put in your garden for planting, it will make your lawn more inviting and less bare. These are some simple steps to turn your lawn into soil ready planting.
Choose a shape you want your garden bed to be, then go around the perimeter with a spade. You can also do this easier with less labour using a rotor tiller. Start by cutting out cube blocks of sod and grass and transport it to a wheelbarrow which will be emptied out somewhere else in the garden bed to mix things around. After the grass is removed, dig deeper and keep mixing the soil as you go along. Add compost and more soil, and then add a layer of fertilizer, then let the bed settle for a couple of days. After, your new bed will be ready for planting.
